In deme jare Cristi är medeltidstyska för ”i detta Kristi år” – ungefär som ”i Herrens år” eller ”Anno Domini”. Frasen inleder bland annat en text som handlar om slaget vid Åsle 1389, då kung Albrecht av Mecklenburg förlorade den svenska kronan till drottning Margareta av Danmark.
The title In deme jare Cristi is medieval German. It means ”in this year of Christ”, and is the first phrase of a text written in 1389 (and other texts as well – it can be compared to ”Anno Domini” or something similar). The text is about the battle of Åsle, where king Albrecht von Mecklenburg was defeated and lost the crown of Sweden to queen Margareta of Denmark.
